Jet & Amber
June 2026
This is a second chance romance and a revenge story.
Jet was the cook’s son in Amber’s home when she was growing up and she adored him and believed that he cared for her. But everything went wrong when Amber was still only a teenager and Jet goes off to Greece to join his father’s wealthy family and carve out a new life.
For the following seven years, Amber only glimpses Jet in gossip magazines and newspapers. He moves on and leaves her behind. Then her father goes bankrupt and all of a sudden, Jet is back in her life making demands.
All Amber wants to do is protect her grandmother’s security and she gives way while feeling increasingly that she’s living the life of a mistress.
Both my hero and heroine are damaged by the traumas they’ve suffered and it takes a great deal of honesty for them to begin to understand what the past did to them both.
Can Jet ever come clean about his true motives? Can Amber ever forgive him for his mistakes? Will Amber make the mistake of continuing to protect her brutal father from his just deserts? And if there is a baby, will it push them further apart or bring them together?
UPDATE (June 2026): Jet and Amber’s story will be called the “Betrayed, Blackmailed, Bedded“.
Excerpts From the Book
She didn’t want him in her personal space
His features had fined down. The boyishness had evaporated. The once shaggy black hair was cropped short and perfectly styled just as it was in his photos. He still had a perfect profile, an attractive rather full mouth but the overall aspect of his demeanour was grim and guarded where it had once been light hearted and open. That was the most obvious change she spotted. His dark golden eyes were still scandalously stunning from his long curling black lashes to the ever changing shade of them.
In answer to her question, Jet shrugged. That very broad shoulder was sheathed in an exquisitely cut black suit, teamed with a black shirt and a red tie that screamed at her…red for danger. ’We’ll move this…discussion to your flat,’ he decreed.
‘No!’ she exclaimed in a kneejerk reaction because she didn’t want him in her personal space.
‘If you want me to be’
‘I’m not sure I’m likely to be the equal of anyone’s fantasy, least of all yours,’ Amber admitted, standing in front of the bed and then, kicking off her shoes to lie down on it, fighting her nervous tension to the last ditch, determined not to reveal it.’ Could you be my dream?’
Jet surveyed her and in every way, she was his dream, his reward for which he had long plotted and planned. And that was what she was here now in his life to provide: the dream, only she had the annoying factor of speaking up when he most wanted her to remain silent and he did not want to hear about her previous lovers.
‘If you want me to be,’ he retorted, reaching for her and lifting her back off the bed. He tugged off her jacket, spun her round to find the zip of her dress and send it downward, impatient hands urging the garment to shimmy down to her slender ankles. His, all his now, he inwardly savoured.’ But in all honesty, I don’t think I’ll ever be any woman’s dream.’
There was nothing childlike in what followed
And for the first time in a very long time, Amber was conscious of what she was wearing, how she looked and of the hopeless disconnect between what Jet expected from her and what she was more likely to deliver. He wouldn’t have counted on pyjamas covered in a cupcake design, hair fresh from the shower and a wavy, messy mass, nor a bare scrubbed face.
‘Yes, yes Morris, I know you’re glad to see me…’ Jet intoned, bestowing a passing stroke on the little dog’s back as he strode forward, suddenly toweringly tall and intimidating standing in front of her. Her breathe squeezed out of her lungs and she snatched in a new one at the staggering surprise of his appearance. It was nothing though to the shock of his next move. He simply reached down and lifted her up into his arms as though she were a small child and clasped her bodily to him and there was nothing childlike in what followed.
