The Greek Tycoon's Disobedient Bride

Publisher: Mills & Boon (5 Dec 2008). ISBN-10: 0263864804, ISBN-13: 978-0263864809

Bought: one house, one wife! It amazed Ophelia that Lysander Metaxis -- a Greek billionaire notorious for his harem of adoring women wanted to marry her, a humble gardener with a grumbling old manor house and debts up to her ears. But soon she realized Lysander didn't want her- he wanted her property and her body. But marry him she would, because she had no choice if she wanted to keep what she cherished most. And disobedient she would be, because her new husband had no intention of loving her.

(From the Virgin Brides, Arrogant Husbands trilogy).

This book was chalked full of details and an in depth storyline. Lynne Graham really worked on the plot and she setup the book so that you are intrigued to find out the stories of Ophelia's younger sister Abbey and (possible) brother. This is a trilogy that seems as though it will flow seamlessly. The quality of writing reminds me of Lynne Graham's early writing like her classic "Bond of Hatred". I look forward to reading books 2 and 3 in the next coming months. I'm excited to read about a Russian alpha-male hero for the second book, that's a departure from the usual diet of Italian, Spanish, British or French wealthy man candy. I hope she does justice to the male lead. I'll be looking to see since I once dated a very sexy Russian once upon a time. Happy Reading !

Like all the books in this trilogy, I really enjoyed this book. The only thing is the discription of the book is misleading, it makes it sound like Lysander tricked Ophelia, but she knew why he was marrying her and that it was just for the house and she was marrying him because she thought that her grandmother left her a letter telling her what happened to her sister, which would be given to her after the wedding. When she finds out that her grandmother tricked them both she wants out, but he won't let her so she sets out to make it rough for him (not in a bad way, kind of cute like). My favorite part is where she takes his car and wrecks it then how she tells him what happened (very funny) and instead of staying mad at her he laughs.

I have no idea why you'd call a parrot Haddock, but as with all of LG's books, it's the sort of quirky name which makes you smile and makes the books that much more enjoyable. Especially since this particular parrot has been taught to loudly slander the hero whenever his name is mentioned. Both hero and heroine are strong characters in this novel. Lysander is a typical LG hero, billionaire playboy determined to get his own way. Orphelia is equally determined to play him at his own game. Told to behave like a wife, she does exactly that, it may be a marriage of convenience but that doesn't stop her from demanding that he alter his lifestyle to fit in with the fact that he's married. Far more concerned with her garden and home than him, she becomes a challenge he can't resist and the passion sizzles from the moment they get together. This is the first novel in a trilogy and sets the stage for the other two books. Whilst both the following books are individual novels, you do get to meet Lysander and Orphelia again and see how their life together continues.
