Polly didn't expect to be happy. Family loyalty and the knowledge that her love for Chris would never be returned led Polly to accept marriage to Prince Raschid, heir to a desert kingdom. The problems she thought she'd face were practical ones - such as how she'd adjust to life in a very different culture. What a shock it was to discover that the handsome autocratic man she'd married was a complex and wonderful companion and that her emotions were certainly involved!

A firm favourite! I think this is perhaps the first book I noticed of Lynnes and it's remained a favourite ever since. It's odd to write a review 20 years after a book has been published. In some ways it has, perhaps dated. There are no mobile phones, no texting, no handy internet. In every way that counts though, it hasn't dated at all. An Arabian Courtship remains a charming uplifting romance in the style that we all now expect of Lynne. Polly is forced into marriage by parents who are too selfish and self involved to care about the consequence to her. Believing that the love of her life doesn't care for her and for the sake of her younger brothers and sisters, she goes ahead with the arrangement. Raschid is also forced by his family into the marriage. He believes that Polly is in it for the money. Once married, he discovers the truth and from then on, he's determined to win his bride. A captivating story, highly recommended.
